Following the release of the TV series, Blue Exorcist: The Movie was released in 2012, integrating anime-specific story elements with the original story from the manga. The TV series continued with the broadcast of the second cour, Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga in 2017, turning volumes 5 to 9 of the manga into anime.
