Things aren't going great for Gye-jeol. She gets fired at the hospital she is doing her fellowship and nearly falls when a mysterious man saves her. She falls for him the minute she lays eyes on him, but then he disappears. The man turns out to be Professor Do Jin-woo of the Pilseong Medical Center, who hires her. However, there is something suspicious about him.

Kokdu, the Deity of the Underworld, has possessed Do Jin Woo's body. However, Gye Jeol has no clue where Do Jin Woo has disappeared and begins to face the repercussions. Without knowing Do Jin Woo has become Kokdu, she finally finds him, only to learn that he wants to kill her.

A clue that could help uncurse Kokdu appears. Kokdu tries to change his fate by seducing Gye Jeol. However, it's not as easy as he thinks. His first attempt puts him in the gutters, and he needs a better way to disguise his true colours. Maybe money will do the trick? Or how about a clinic?

Gye Jeol and Kokdu get caught up in a strange, unexplainable car accident with a man who suddenly appears in front of them and then disappears. Meanwhile, Gye Jeol opens her clinic and agrees to date Kokdu. However, will they find their way out through the misunderstandings and secrets and end their date unscathed?

Kokdu learns that Han Gye Jeol was Seol Hee all along, and he prepares to propose to her. However, unexpected obstacles get in the way, giving Kokdu a difficult time. Meanwhile, Yi Deun calls Gye Jeol in the middle of the night.

Jung Won doubts Jin Woo regained his memories and tells him to prove it by doing a test with her. They go on a date, and Kokdu does whatever he can to deceive her. Later, Gye Jeol and Kokdu get caught up in a new crisis with a patient needing emergency medical aid.

Do Jin Woo is back! Kokdu returns to the underworld, where he helplessly watches over Han Gye Jeol and Do Jin Woo. Will he ever get a second chance to return to the human world and break his curse? Meanwhile, Oksin and Gaksin think of a way to get Gye Jeol to wish Kokdu back.

Kokdu returns! Gye Jeol realizes that she has feeling for Kokdu as she scours the recycling center for Kokdu's desk. Kokdu hears from Gaksin that Gye Jeol cried for his presence, and he makes his move. Meanwhile, Kokdu finds out who has been trying to get the better of them.
